What to expect at our learning center.

Check- in Process

When dropping off/picking up students, please report directly to the check-in counter located by the front entrance of the center to check them in/out using the Procare system and grab their name card to give to an adult. We will verify that the student is being dropped off/picked up by an adult. We will also do a brief assessment to ensure that the student is ready to start the day without any presenting issues such as a contagious condition that could put other students or staff at risk. For further details, please see our Parents’ Policies and Procedures Manual.

Social Emotional Learning

At Today’s New Start Learning Center we are concerned about a student’s academic needs as well as their social and emotional needs. We will NOT be diagnosing students that are enrolled in the center. However, we are trained to assist students with special needs. And we are committed to receiving continuing education to help serve the evolving needs of our student body. For further details, please see our Parents’ Policies and Procedures Manual.

Structured Schedule

The students will have a structured schedule that will be given to the parent upon enrollment. There may be days when the schedule may be subject to change. This adjustment could be as a result of a field trip, a special presentation or the existence of any unforeseen circumstances. If there is an emergency at the center, parents will be notified as soon as possible. For further details, please see our Parents’ Policies and Procedures Manual.

Our Meals

The center will provide balanced, healthy meals and snacks. Breakfast and an afternoon snack will be available at a specified time prior to formal instruction. A nutritious, well balanced, and delicious morning snack and lunch will be served midday when applicable. Please be sure to communicate in writing to the staff by way of a doctor’s note any food allergies. For further details, please see our Parents’ Policies and Procedures Manual.

Health & Fitness

Today’s New Start will be incorporating physical fitness and wellness into the day. The students will begin to learn the basic principles of healthy living. The students will also participate in physical activity at a specified time during the school day. For further details, please see our Parents’ Policies and Procedures Manual.
